Who made this Jordan 1742 Long Land, and where could I find a barrel?

Here's the inside of the lock, what am I looking for as to the boss for the front bolt?

As to the legalities, it was on auction in England as it is. The auctioneer informed me that the barrel no longer exists. Whatever happened to the barrel, and why, are closed books.

I know the British law, but many in Britain, including heirs, police departments, auction houses, and some R.F.D.s do not. And some who do choose not to jump through the hoops.

You did not mention that. As the BB and its ilk are smoothbore, it would have been subject to Section 2 of the FA. It's more likely that somebody just wanted a good barrel for their replica.

Curious the insides look old perhaps by intent. I was a .UK RFD for years made lots of guns mostly Fint Shot guns as they where harder to find. Some civil war matchlocks & rifles but many I sent or took to the US Ide declare them at the US end they just waved me through or just look at a bit of buttplate ect . I made all sort in the US as I 'wintered ' their for 17 or so years Some got started in NZ worked on in the US & taken & completed if need be in the UK .big box maybe 7 guns each way Wheel locks ,fishtail stocked Match or English locks All grist to the mill . Then the ex ray & 911 got the whole scene altered . But got Married at Fort Ti and sproglets came along & put the lid on that plan . Now ime too creeky to go any where . Did make a shoot in Aberta but run out of steam now .
UK thinking was Muskets where Shotguns & if you shot at say a Bisley match the load didn't matter And the prevailing view was what no one shall see no one shall mind. I once bought two Double rifles in India I took them to the firearms officer one was a Jeffries 500 450 cordite the other an old Lancasters under lever cam forward to open . In some 500 cal ovel rifling he declines to list saying" Its smooth bore to us mate " I didn't argue but became RFD soon after , PS
Kit Ravenshear in conjuction with Coach Harness Sandy Mc Nab did put out a long land some bicentenial stuff not sure details might have an old Guns Review promoteing them some Welsh regiment ? cant recall but could be what it was . Rudyard

View attachment 353547Good day all, more of my Bess folly.

In this case I bought this stock and lock in England. (Although I'm in the U. S.)
The barrel is gone- a casualty of British firearms law where a replica flintlock barrel is still a firearm. My internet research has found mention of a "Jordan" marked long land repro, but no one seems to know who actually made them. This one has "Tempus Fugit" and "Rochester" very lightly and crudely traced on the stock freehand, I assume not by the maker but by an owner.

The barrel channel is full sized, much larger diameter than a Pedersoli replica barrel and set up for 46 inch length.

So, where can I find a replacement barrel? And who made these? Thank you!

Trye Loyalist Arms. I have an original Enfield smooth bore P59 musket (original). The barrel was toast - Bobby Hoyt felt it was too far gone and at least at that time was not interested in making a new barrel. I called Loyalist on the of chance tht they had a barrel that might fit and they did. I had to bend the tang and drill the

None of the Indian barrels are going to work on that gun.

That’s a navy arms / miroku made brown Bess, the breech was around 1.3-1.325, the Indian barrels will never match the taper.

I would just have Jason t Rice or Bobby Hoyt make a barrel to fit the stock, there really is no other options other than keeping an eye out for a used beat up miroku Bess that you can pawn the barrel from.
