Well, I have never hunted in temp. much below 15-20 degrees, so I wouldn't know. If it is down to 0, I'd just stay home. Here in Va., it can be pretty cold in the late season, especially, around dawn, but usally warms up during the day. I hunt, from Oct. til Jan. and can be a little more selective on days I want to hunt.

I also could see where a lock with heavy grease on it might not function properly in very cold weather. Slowing down the lock. But with the high-tech products that we have today, that should not be a problem.
