Nice guys finish last.....still.

Was cleaning up around the house and found my old Muzzle Blasts. I may join just for the magazine. Any other muzzleloader magazines out there that are "decent"?

Yes!
Check out Muzzleloader Magazine .

Muzzle Blast has come along way as well.

I Just looked over some of these NMLRA related posts. I joined late 60s . Though I never lived in the US I spent a lot of time there & attended many Friendship meeting over 17 years plus R vous . They never made a fuss over me like they did for other overseas members , which I took as a compliment .I wasn't regarded as a Foriegner ! . But the xxx s as you call them did not sit well with me so I gave up ,yet currently am a member .( Ime so traditional I sneer at Caplocks ! )But I do see they ,the NMLRA are in an unfortunate position . Fortunatly there are No seasons for large game in New Zealand so no loophole XXX cheaters are sought nor have I seen any advertized or offererd . But there are relatively few who soley hunt with MLs of any sort .

Yes, "Muzzleloader" magazine is worth the read....

Thinking in terms of the title of this thread: I am glad I finally became a member of NMLRA. I really enjoy the magazine, which I pass on to a neighbor after reading. I enjoy even more the online discussions, even if I don't join in every one. After knee and back surgeries, I have spent a lot of time in my recliner, enjoying the discussions. I've seen a lot of good information, and I believe there can be disagreements where multiple opinions are entirely correct. Keep them coming.

Are there State versions of the NMLRA ? Like we have the TSRA down here in Texas. Sort of like the NRA?

Actually Texas has the Texas Muzzle Loading Rifle Association (TMLRA) not the TSRA.

We shoot in Brady in March, June and October. All are welcome to come and join.

You can even buy black powder without being a member.

I have a problem with an officer of the NMLRA lying to my face about a simple question. I am a member and still will be but because of this individual I will have a hard time believing the others on the board.

This poster.

Whom lied and when??

I have noticed you have not let us know who lied to you. Have you contacted the President with your concerns?

Only seems fair to the NMLRA does it not????

Great support group, if you have never been to friendship spring shoot, or the championship shoot you really missing out, you don’t have to be a member, more helpfully people you will never meet.

I've heard many nice things about Friendship, but its just not too high on my Bucket List. I've got many other things to do and places to see before I ever get around to Friendship. Black powder guns are only one of my hobbys. But if I'm ever in that vicinity....

Yes, I am a member. I joined about 2 years ago when I was at the NRA annual meeting and they were running a special. I was (still am) very new to muzzle loading and I absoltuely love the magazine! It has taught me quite a bit about history and the sport. I have also learned a lot from my local muzzle loader group that I joined a couple of years ago as well. I am impressed with the organization and want to try and go to the national shoots in September in Friendship if I can make it.
