Sounds like a Jukar. There were many maid and imported by allot of different companies like Traditions, CVA, Sears and so on. Some reenactors like to remove the markings to make them seem more authentic I hear.

I received a An IX Gendarme for xmas. It was beautiful when I opened the box. As I took it apart for a thorough cleaning, it was obvious that the factory was pushing production hard. The wood under the barrel band was very roughly finished. Other inletting was rough but not as bad. The factory worker didn't take the time to clean out the wood chips. **** spring and frizzen spring are way to strong. So I will now learn how to file the springs to balance the **** and frizzen. Not what one would expect for a $600 gun. The Pedersoli video on YouTube is misleading, I think. Caveat emptor.

It would appear that Pedersoli makes guns to different price points.

Amen. As does almost every manufacturer of almost every product in the world.
This does not make Ped. bad people.
Buyers still must make the best choices possible for themselves. The post is a valuable reminder of that axiom.

Pedersoli shuts down for a month each year and they all go on vacation, it's a Europe tradition.

Your pistol may have been made right before or after the vacation.

Not sure how a person would know when a gun was made.

I bought a pedersoli Kentucky in 45 cal percussion from a guy off gunbroker, I only paid $120 for it. I took 3rd place in a tournament with it that year. I didn't do any work on it other than take it out to shoot it to see where the sights were. Its a fun gun to shoot. I am sorry you had bad luck with them, because mine shoots great.
