My wife and I have hunted with muzzleloaders for many years, but decided to try from a new tent type blind this year. It was very comfy sipping tea while we waited, and at sun down she got a nice doe. Age and arthritis have slowed her down but she still filled her tag.

That is not a collar on the doe, but the hair pulled all up from the strap I used to pull her out with. The rifle is the wife's with a doe head carved in the stock that she did a few years back, she calls it "Blossom".

Congrat's to you and your wife! I must admitt it took me a second to see the doe head in the stock but once I did I was impressed. A neat idea and artisticaly done.

Okay, I see the doe head too! I like it. Give her my congrats...maybe she can throw some my way this year. I'm looking to come out of a two year drought.

Congrats and Waidmanns Heil from Germany!

What powdercharge, bullet and cal. did she use?

The rifle looks like a Traditions Deerhunter with longer barrel.

Regards :hatsoff:

It is a Traditions Deerhunter with a 24" barrel. The load was 70g of 2f Goex, .490 ball and a 16th pillow ticking patch with a home cut felt wad under the patched ball. The range was 60 yards, bang flop.

Been thinking about getting one of those....Any advice / suggestions? Does it sit two comfortable enough? Etc....

Yes it sits 2 people ok, but it can be a bit tough getting a good shot away if the Deer comes out where you are not expecting it to. You sure need hearing protection, my wife fired before I could plug my ears. One ear's hearing is still a bit off.

Grats to the Missus! :hatsoff:
That's kinda neat how she did the doe head on that stock.

Yes she likes to to that kind of stuff. She now wants to do a Wolf head on a stock. I may just have to get another muzzleloader.
