I have never used it but it has been posted many times that Crisco is a workable patch lube. You would not want to leave it in the bore for a long time (hunting) without firing it in a hot environment though.

Put a gob of Crisco in your mouth and then put a patch in your mouth. Spitloob! Let us know how it works out!

It make very little difference what you use as long as it doesn't contaminate your charge!

How about Crisco for patch line? Thoughts?

About my first ten years of shooting ml crisco was the only lube I used. It works fine. Like all lubes, use sparingly and consistently.

Tryed it 50 + years ago , thought it a little too greasy , and went back to OLD Zip mutton tallow. Liked it better.
