Sorry, didn't mean to high jack your thread Roundball and good luck this year to everybody. Tracy
Not a problem...was really just a general purpose thread to get the juices flowing about our upcoming fall seasons

Kansas has some real whoppers! One of the top states for big whitetails. Good luck in your 2013 season. I'd like to see a picture of you or one of your family with that big guy next fall.

The scenerio that Loxahatchee spells out does happen, unfortunately more than many of us would like to see. The only thing he missed was the "hunter" already sitting at the ranch-house bar having a cold one while the "team" was recovering his deer. I actually saw on TV a fenced place in Illinois where the enclosed "box" blind was so big that...no kidding...it had a small bar with attendant in the blind!!! :shocked2: I about fell over. And it was some guy with his teenaged son...yeah...that's the way to teach them hunting skills. I turned off the TV in short order.

Where you at in Kansas I need a hunting partner with good land, I mean a good hunting buddy yeah that's it. I can't complain I get to hunt Ft Riley however once you get 5 guys hunting the same monster buck it becomes tough very very fast.

This would do just fine.
Sevan said this deer is an obvious camera whore.

To get out and go hunting at all.

I have my license already, boat, rifles, and even a hunting partner or two crazy enough to go with me. Just need a little more time, motivation, and maybe less distractions. http://www.adfg.alaska.gov/

Just acquired my first flinter but 3rd smokepole overall.

My one and only son is going off to college this fall, but he's only two hours away.

Goal is to spend as much free time with my best friend and hunting buddy, my son.

He gets to shoot the 54 T/C this fall and I get to shoot my new flinter. Together we plan on taking 4 does with the smoke poles and donating them to those who need the meat more than we do.

Im sorry if my post came across wrong, that was not my intent. I was merely mocking the fact that some "hunters" believe big bucks cost thousands of dollars and can only be found in fenced-in ranches. Your picture obviously proves otherwise.I have much respect for you and your boys using bows and not hunting over food. Unfortunately in my area, in order to have to deer stick around on our property and not get shot on neighboring property, bait is critical. That might seem like we're hogging the deer, but folks around here shoot every buck they see, no matter what. Florida law has minimal regulation on bucks (does can only be killed during archery and "doe week" during general gun) For bucks, its one buck a day all season long. People are astonished to see pictures of trophy bucks killed around here. They think our deer just cant grow that big. And its true, they cant. Because most of them never live long enough! If people would refrain from blasting every deer with horns they see, there would be better looking deer being harvested. :shake:

Anyways, good luck on bagging that stud!
