I'm getting supplies together to make my own "Wonder Wads". You know little felt discs that are saturated with lube that I use in my revolvers. Then I got to thinking do I need to use real wool felt or is does that matter? Any and all answers would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have made them out of the felt used for windows. Works fine.

As above, Duro is what I have used.

You want to avoid products containing synthetic materials that melt. Otherwise a number of things work. I’ve used durofelt but also used scrap wool blanket material left over from a capote project.

You can use most anything that will work as a retainer for the lube, if you dip them in a melted lube that solidifies fairly hard. But that said, not being cellulose, wool has the advantage of not wanting to smolder.
