Bought this beautiful rifle from a forum member who had this extra Hawken in his collection but apparently never used it considering how clean this sucker is.
This rifle is as clean as if it just came out of the box and the walnut stock really does have some nice figure to it.
The only thing l found when l got it was that there were blemishes in the nosecap that came right out after buffing it with very fine steel wool, otherwise this thing is pretty darn near factory mint.
I bought a synthetic ramrod from TOTW and an aftermarket buckhorn sight that is mounted on the barrel using the original factory screws. Rifle will be shipped with the factory sight as well.
As much as l like this rifle and as much as l might kick myself in the head for doing this later, right now lve really got my heart set on a flintlock Lyman GPR in .54. mostly due to the fact that the GPR is more authentic looking as far as Hawken style rifles go whereas the TC Hawken was bought more for nostalgia than anything. ( Yeah, I've been watching Jeremiah Johnson and the Mountain Men a lot lately. )
Anyway, I'd really like to do a straight up trade if possible and we would each pay for our own shipping. I paid a little over $600 for my rifle but l realize it's value may be different in the eyes of others.
If anyone is interested, give me a holler and hopefully we can work out a deal. I'll post pics of the rifle from the original sale for now and I'll post some new ones tomorrow.
