My name is Brian
I have been around Black powder shooting nearly 40 years.
I compete actively with the N-SSA (been a member since 2001)
I have a keen interest in most of the guns of the 18/19th centuries
~Recently appointed to Position of Recruitment Officer for the Regional Office of the N-SSA~
and I like to learn about the styles and events in which each firearm evolved and I show appreciation and support.

Between the Spring Shoot in 1974 and I think the Fall Shoot of 2005, I worked NSSA guns at the National Championships for about 2/3's of those years when the Marine Corps figured they didn't need me in other parts of the country or the world.

Howdy from North Texas and welcome to the forum. David France helped me immensely 15 years ago when I bought my first rifled musket shooting minies. Even brought me back the most affordable FFFG I ever bought. I wish I'd bought more.

And yet another Howdy and Welcome from Texas!
When you do ML things, show us photos! Shooting, firearms, scenery, camping, grandkids, we love it all!

We were down the road from you in Fredericksburg over the 4th of July, and it was as hot as Texas!
But the history of the town was incredible! We walked the Battlefield and Marye's Heights and the Cemetery, and the Sunken Road, and tried to picture the carnage. The NPS Visitor Center had some great displays, and not the regular vanilla non-offensive stuff that some other places have. In all, a very sobering place.

For example, in the Cemetery, some of the headstones had numbers to indicate the number of Federal bodies buried in that grave from the Battle of Fredericksburg. And there were rows upon rows of those headstones. Such an incredible waste. I'm glad times have changed, and we all get along now.

With so much local history, what are your favorite historical sites and sights in Virginia? Y'all seem to have a lot more than most other states. Again, show us photos!
