There is a huge box from Panther Primitives sitting here in the living room.

I did not order this box!

OK GHOST, here's what you do...

Call or email Panther Primitives and say there's a question about the items in the box...

They will spill the beans about the package and what's in side...

I did this before with something Mrs. Musketman got me, (Edmund Scientifics) they told me everything...

Then I told them it was for me and they just gave the surprise away, they called me an ass...

Only 17 hours 'till I open my Christmas present and I haven't felt this way about Christmas for over 40 years.

Inside the box is a 16 gauge, John Manton & Son, sxs flinter.

There are questions, why does it have a breeching he supposedly stopped using in 1808 when he didn't become "& Son" until 1814. If the locks have been changed the inletting of the bridle will be a mess, I could live with that.

OTOH I hope it has a serial number. If any of you are praying tonight could you add an extra line, "and please let Squire Robin's Manton have a serial number".

Still 17 hours to go, whatever happenned to tempus fugit???

Hey, what about me? I could use some of them over 21 naughty girls too. ::

As a special Christmas treat my wife will be driving me over to her sister's place in Crowborough, which is why I had to spend all this morning fitting new front discs and brake pads to my car, I'll drive back so she can have a drink or two while I watch TV.

I truly believe I need to see how a proper husband, who invested his money wisely instead of buying piles of old guns, can afford the important things in life.

Well I have managed to sucessfully ignore the thin, rectangular wrapped box on the bottom of the pile of boxes in the northwest corner of the office closet for 2 days so a few more hours won't be hard.Plus,I'm at work till 2330 anyway.Say,that means that by the time I get home it will be Christmas Day...nah,must be strong and show some restraint.Gotta set an example for my 3 year daughter...

Ok....can you give dimensions and weight???
She picked it up and ran...well, that lets' out a 21'x21' tent. Would need a fork lift for that. :results:

So..... :shocking: how big...you got your hands around it...right :nono:

Sheesh, yer pretty hard on this mans wife! Askin for her dimensions and weight.... Thats awful forward of ya.

Then you compare her to a forklift... Very poor form.

Then you call her "it". Well she cant be TOO big if he can get his hands around "it"... Lay off her, would ya?

Sombody with high breeding and good manners had to stand up for her, and since there was nobody like that around here, I gave it a whirl.

Come to think of it, I am afraid that she has discovered the forum and is posting under an assumed name (can't imagine anyone doing such a thing!).

You have to be careful on these computers, you might catch yourself giving advice, or (shutter...) flirting with your wife!!!

Watch for posts from some woman married to bald, overweight, middle aged guy that spends a disproportinate amount of time whittling on gunstocks.

That will narrow it down quite a bit.
