I purchased this rifle about 4 months ago from a fellow shooter over on the American Longrifle forum. He received it from Mr. Zihn in 2020. I haven't shot it yet, and have to sell it now to fund some repairs to a greenhouse before Spring.
Has a 33" 15/16" straight Green Mountain barrel in .54 cal. The original owner stated it will cloverleaf at 50 yards with .535 ball, .010 patch And 95 grains of FF. It will come with 100 ball and some patch material.
Mr. Zihn's Hawkens are known for there historical accuracy, and accuracy on the range. Lock is nicely engraved and stamped J&S Hawken, breech of the barrel has the same names and St Louis stamped. This is a copy of an 1850s era rifle. Overall length is 49" and weighs a nice 9 lbs. Asking $1400 and I'll pay shipping to the lower 48.
Email or IM with any questions. Thank you,
Greg
