You do very nice work!
I don’t own a Great Plains Rifle, but a lot of people on this forum love them. They can be hard to find right now.
An alternative, if you can’t find a Lyman, might be one of the Mountain Rifle kits from White Muzzleloading. I don’t know how to post a link from the iPhone, but if you Google “white Muzzleloading” you should find it. The proprietor, Gary “Doc” White, found a quantity of un-used Austin & Halleck Mountain rifle parts, mostly .50 caliber barrels and mountings, and he has put together parts sets, kits, and finished rifles using these parts with new lock, tangs, and stocks. The A&H Mountain Rifles were nice guns, with very good barrels. Might be worth a look.
Doc puts his contact information on his website. I’ve never met him, but I have read a lot of his articles and he comes across as being a very knowledgeable but down-to-earth fellow. You could probably call him to discuss the project you have in mind, and maybe he could fix you up. It won’t hurt to ask.
I would like to see photos of your project rifle when you finish. I bet it’ll be a beauty!

The Investarms Gemmer from Muzzle-Loaders is the same gun as the old Lyman GPR.
