If you can’t afford the price of a humble flint perhaps you should find a cheaper hobby. BTW I don’t see any bitching about the price of black powder along with the flint rant.

Best thing about muzzleloading is you can save money by learning to make your own supplies. I learned how to make powder which I can do for pennies on the pound. One out of the three ingredients I have an almost limitless supply(willow tree in my back yard)so that costs nothing. I make my own ammunition and have enough lead to drown a horse so Im set there. Again little to no cost. I guess if need be I'll teach myself to knap flint to save even more money.
Making flints ain’t hard. If I can do it, anybody can.
