Saw that episode, looks good. We love us some Townsends relayed recipes or receipts. One of our favorites is Scotched Collops using venison.

I haven't browsed their videos in a while...wonder if they have a recipe for Steak & Oyster Pie?
Had a place called Whale n Ale where I first had it - who knew steak and oysters backed in a pie could be so GOOD!

You have a historic Greek onion pie recipe in a colonial cook book?
LOL I'm sure there are other, tastier recipes for a pie that is onion-centric. My best friend in reenacting/living history is Greek Orthodox, but he doesn't make Greek food in camp. This was from a historic cook book, and could've been known in the Colonies.

Colonial cookbooks all seem to be the same to me. Even though their were dozens of other ethnic groups at the time.
