So it's potato, sliced HB egg, and onion. I'm going to increase the onion next time.

I am sure it is good Dave, looks good, but give me my Mommy's Apple Pie any day of the week.
LOL..., it's a an entrée, as would be a chicken-pot-pie. ;) So you would not have this instead of your Mommy's Apple Pie, but would have it and then, have the apple pie.

Saw that episode, looks good. We love us some Townsends relayed recipes or receipts. One of our favorites is Scotched Collops using venison.

I haven't browsed their videos in a while...wonder if they have a recipe for Steak & Oyster Pie?

Had a place called Whale n Ale where I first had it - who knew steak and oysters backed in a pie could be so GOOD!
...just checked, looks like Whale n Ale is closed up now, don't even have the steak & Oyster pie in their online menu

I've done a few of those Townsend's recipes that Jon and Ryan make. Most all have come out pretty dang good!

The Doc is out now.

Try a Greek onion pie recipe
You have a historic Greek onion pie recipe in a colonial cook book? 🤪

LOL I'm sure there are other, tastier recipes for a pie that is onion-centric. My best friend in reenacting/living history is Greek Orthodox, but he doesn't make Greek food in camp. This was from a historic cook book, and could've been known in the Colonies. 😉

Ah that's to bad . Your friends persona could have been a Greek sailor that was on a Spanish ship. That ported in Savannah Georgia. His time was up so he decided to visit the colonies.
Colonial cookbooks all seem to be the same to me. Even though their were dozens of other ethnic groups at the time.
