OK fellas. Here's the deal.
As shown in the photo below there are three goodly chunks of purple-brown hardwood, approximately 1 15/16" x 3" in cross section. And it's some pretty hard stuff. Whether it's from San Antonio, Africa, Central or South America, I don't have a clue. Based upon that lack of info on the sourcing I'd say be careful when working it because the dust from sanding some varieties can be really dangerous.
That said, as has been discussed with Meriwether these are being offered as a site benefit and hopefully for promoting new membership. If you want a piece then it will be thirty dollars (by cash, check or money order, no electronic stuff) to your door in the 50 states. It's first come first serve so if you want the big #1 piece then step right up.
If you wish to have an annual membership then I forward your name to Meriwether. If you just want the wood then that's OK too. Either way I forward funds to the site.
