look man, i could not care less if a man smokes a pipe or not, my personal feeling is the study about people living longer who smokes one is a crock! and it sounds more like an excuse to do it than not to. i am just saying common sense tells me there can be no benefit from putting poison smoke with over 7000 chemicals into your mouth! if that is true then we need to encourage kids to do it so they can live a longer life! anyway i am no ken, Keren or anything else, and could not care less what you do if it doesn't affect me! have at it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Call up surgeon general ant tell him, or why your at it try NIH in England, who found it took five bowls per day to set a pipe smoke to the same life expectancy as non smokers, and seven to decrease life expectancy
As I pointed out in my post the increased life span isn’t related to pipe smoking, but the personality types that become smokers
All my labs in January of this year were normal, b/p this afternoon was 124/74. Pulse of 66,
I walked 85 miles in September 98 in august
The only med I take is for enlarged prostate
Most of the chemicals you mentioned are due to additives in cigarette smoking and the paper wrapper.
Pipe tobacco is doesn’t have those chemicals added.
No one is going to tell you that pipe smoking is a health seeking habit, but moderate to light pipe smoking has never been shown to have any health risk

Who here is also a pipe smoker? Not necessarily int he traditional sense....but enjoys a good pipe and tobacco after a day of shooting. .I would love to know what your are smoking (pipe) and what is your favorite blend....For me I smoke a few pipes, but my go to right now is a Missouri Meerschaum Dune Cobbit pipe, and I love County Squire Tombigbee......
I enjoy a few bowls in 2-3 pipes during a days shooting. Even at the Nationals. Fine coffee, pipe smoking and cigar smoking all work well with fine shooting. Don`t know why but one of our winning High Master shooters who has Parkinson's disease uses smoking to help him settle down his hold. He still wins some gold every year. He only has about 2-3 seconds hold time before massive shakes...nsp

Huge, huge mega difference between smoking pipes and cigarettes. Huge difference, not the same thing at all.

Spot on. In my 60's, still weightlift, still ride a bicycle daily.
Smoked a pipe for 25 years now, enjoy it very much.

Not sure how the op's thread beginning about which members of this forum are pipe smokers invited opinions about the act of smoking a pipe?

AND since pipe smokers do not take the smoke into their lungs as a cigarette smoker does, I will leave this comment be....

LD
I smoked a pipe for about 15 years. One morning when I lit up, I got ready dizy, almost hit the floor. New someone was trying tell me something. That was in 1985, my last smoke. I inhaled all the time

Cigarette smoke became much more hazardous after the government forced the adding of chemicals to it to self extinguish, and the billion dollar commodity markets forced growers to use herbicides, pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, ect, ect to wring another buck out of it -

I'm of the opinion that if you do not smoke a pipe because you fear health consequences you ought not speak about those concerns to those who do. Obviously those who smoke pipes and enjoy it do not share your concerns. So why tell them they are wrong, especially if you engage in other activities that are imperfect and that others see as silly, stupid, dangerous, unhealthy, but that you do anyway. Like speeding, skydiving, eating red meat, or any other deliberate behavior that is not good for you, your longevity, or your eternity. No one does right all the time. I say allow yourself what brings you small pleasures that do not directly and negatively impact someone else.

The corncob pipe I have is allot better now.

I havnt cleaned it out yet.

tobacco is an addiction. I like to smoke though.

I've been good at work. I've been able to make it to break time and then to the end of the day.

There no smoking anywhere🚭 😒...

I was running out and hiding in the car between breaks the first month or two.

The other good stuff it doesn't matter. I have it or I don't have it.

Go all day.. wait till the weekends..

Just stop for a month to a year. It's easy.

Tobacco.. is addictive bad. I've always wanted to smoke less cigarettes and quit.. wait to have another you know..
it's addictive. I've never taken a break from it. even when I'm sick and it hurts so much to smoke and you smoke anyway.

A little glass of Southern Comfort and Pastor’s blend in my “Auld Erin” (probably a Peterson second) is my guilty pleasure.

You don’t see that with pipes, there is no ‘addiction’ related to it

Same stuff. I inhale.

I been using gamblers pipe tobacco for tubing cigarettes and the pipe.

If I used a captain black and just puffed a pipe ounce a day maybe.. probably not as addictive

One of my buddy in school 😆

He wanted to smoke and tried a couple packs.

One day he was like I quite smoke and I'm trying the patch.. I was like you don't smoke?

That patch did it.. he was smoking after using that.

They kinda left out part of history in school.. anyway.

I was Google AI ing if they at least mixed the two... nothing really.

The Natives though. They had some heavey duty stuff in there.

You can mix it with even C B D stuff..a Charlotte's Web. It's good smoke. That's more what I mean.

Not pipe smoking..

They got started as kids. Getting the leaves tobacco from the plant fields and packing it under there lip while hunting with bb guns.

I'm sure they might have done that back then.

I get it wasn't that good.. just low test stuff they had.

But it was used In tinctures western med.. so they new.

I smoked a pipe 55 years ago! I liked the smell of cherry blends, but mainly I did it just as a diversion.
It was a pain to keep them lit.
I still have my collection of pipes for some reason. Probably some old stale tobacco as well!
