Update and a few pics below.
The wrench arrived last night. The rifle socket technically does “work” with the TOTW nipple on a Crockett but is not ideal.
You have to slide it on at an angle and it does not go all the way down. You also can’t get more than about a 1/3rd twist.
Having said that, if you spin the nipple on and off with you fingers, this ratchet will do the final tightening. It will also loosen a tight one enough to get it started.
It also marked up the edge of my nipple channel. Not the end of the world. This is a woods rifle for me and that area commonly gets marked up on most rifles.
Thinning the walls of the socket should do the trick, but I think I’m going to order the pistol socket first. I’m kicking myself for not getting both together. I think the pistol socket will be a cleaner mod, but will make a final decision when I have them both in front of me.
The ratchet itself is a nicely made, quality tool that worked perfectly on my “normal” percussion locks. It’s well worth the purchase.
I will take this to the a final conclusion and post more pics when I have modified one of the sockets.
