I have pictures / The earliest date stamped is clear and 1815 / It has several markings and dates / It has a bayonet / Ive been told that the barrel is very clean and would fire lead bullets just fine.

It started off as a smooth bore French St Etienne or Charleville model 1815 flintlock . Then it was converted into a percussion musket and a rear sight added
likely around the 1851 date that is stamped into the wooden stock.
In it's original form it was likely in Napoleon's army.

Wow,thanks for this information...Any idea what the value is,even ballpark idea?

Its

Its not French it never served in the French army, which adopted the Model 1816, not 1815. Its Dutch. It has clear Dutch inspector marks.
I’m amazed at the response of information. I’m not educated about this. I was trying to understand what the value is. Does anyone have an opinion about that. Thanks everyone.

I don't know how it works in the US. But in Germany this firearm would be legal to buy from for anyone over 18.
