You, sir, are an underachiever. If you have never shot and ate a squirrel, then don't cha think its about time?

Deer are nice and all. Many of us depend on the meat from them for the year. But squirrel hunting is the best there ever was. I highly recommend you give it a try (WITH A TRADITONAL MUZZLELOADER) and see for yourself. If anyone thinks squirrel hunting with a trad ML is easy, then step right up and give it a try.

I think you will like it, Trigger. You certainly will be hooked for life. Its time you open a new chapter in your life and expand your horizons.

BTW, I consider myself a half-way decent deer hunter with all kinds of deer tools. You want to know how I learned how to deer hunt? From squirrel hunting.
Right on.

Hmmm, I'm not sure. If I had realized there were both i would have looked more closely. There was instant recognition because of the distinctive handle. I stopped looking and fled due to the price tag. 😬
My guess is, it was the Gen 3 Tripod. If it wasn't, then I too, would run out of that store.

BTW gang. I didn't know this until this morning while out on a hunt. The head of the bipod Trigger Stick Gen 3 tilts left-right as well. It will not do that until the legs are spread out.

Yes.. i agree with the muzzloader squirrel hunt.

I just found this area to try.. so after deer.

Honestly I could have got many in my yard but.. ehh I want to hunt one in the woods to eat..

I did get one of these.. air rifle.

I'll post the picture of it just because....

That's what I have. Or muzzloader Shotgun.

You would know.. it's 800fps .22.. I don't know if it's enough for them. Those squirrels are tuff.. I might need to use the shotgun.

I use to hunt chipmunk allot as a kid.

I would Also hunt butterflys that's fun. you try to get them flying around.

If it lands on a flower or something that's just not sporting like.

Funny I'm happy I got the air rifle but I didn't need it or want it..I didn't need it..

Long story short.. I bought it thinking I could no longer use muzzleloader..

Then found out. I could still use muzzloader.

So I waisted money.

I was bummed.. I didn't even know if I was going to leave here and end up with the kids on the bb gun forum.

Adding to the blasphemy of shooting sticks... A few ideas for you all to consider. I picked up a pair of Cascade trekking poles from Amazon last year, under $50. Then I bought two sets of the Wiser Precision adapters ($37 each currently).

I only needed one set to create a bi-pod but opted for a second set to add a leg from my Bog Pod so that I had a light-weight easy to handle tri-pod for a New Mexico elk hunt. This is a very stable set up with just two legs, rock solid with three as I rigged it. Pics are of my configuration. If you need/like trekking poles I highly recommend this combo.

Wiser Precision trekking pole adapter
I have that same combo and can confirm that it is very stable and pretty quick to assemble and you get the benefit of real trekking poles which work far better than either the telescoping bipod or tripod as a walking stick.

I was just thinking.. adjustable painting pole..

And..

I could wrap shooting sticks with any wrap.

I've been trying to put the two together.

I could even use Walmart rods blanks for sticks..

I could even use cork on it. For a handle etc.

I favor the look of wood shooting sticks.. with the leather rest.

But I don't want to carry that.. and I like adjustable..

Bothers me..

My opinion on these sticks..

We're not benching off a gun shack window. Peeing in bottles. Sitting there you know..

Any shooting stick setup is better than that.

Not sure why shooting sticks are considered blasphemy. They’re period correct, at least in usage. Design and materials might not be, but a lot of things I carry are modern day. I’m trying to figure out some for a hunt I’m doing on Friday to use with my shotgun.
It’s actually more of a joke than anything else.

You can't always use them. I don't rely on them..

Is nice to hold the gun and use the stick to aid holding the gun when sitting there.. does that make sense..

Basically I set the hight... stick it in the ground. Rest the gun on it and sit back. With the gun in lap resting.

That's why I like it.. I'm ready position and comfy... without it the guns right across my lap and it's extra movement when a deer is around you.

Same with standing..

I set it's hight. Stick it in the ground to my leftish.. hold the gun nice but also rest it.. helps with standing there a while not moving.

I just kinda started getting back into ground hunting again..

I use to set my climber around.. I left that in the garage.

It's different.
