Adding to the blasphemy of shooting sticks... A few ideas for you all to consider. I picked up a pair of Cascade trekking poles from Amazon last year, under $50. Then I bought two sets of the Wiser Precision adapters ($37 each currently).

I only needed one set to create a bi-pod but opted for a second set to add a leg from my Bog Pod so that I had a light-weight easy to handle tri-pod for a New Mexico elk hunt. This is a very stable set up with just two legs, rock solid with three as I rigged it. Pics are of my configuration. If you need/like trekking poles I highly recommend this combo.

Looks like a sturdy set up for sure. How does it transport? Can you shoot high enough up a tree while seated while squirrel hunting? Thanks for posting.

Just adjust the height of the legs on the poles. For most squirrel hunting the bi-pod is plenty and you can easily get them set up for pretty high angle shots. Obviously depends on the angle of slope you are sitting or standing on. The Cascade poles are really light, and if you are using one you can tuck the other into a small pack if you want. I will actually connect them and then twist them to line up and use 'two at once' in one hand. That way if you need to set up, they are already locked in, just twist them to the open width you want and lay in the gun.

Sounds good👍

Oops..

I had to see more.. I found more.

I ended up following this deer sign. to the only house here..

I was like a house. That sucks..

Boom. Right from that house.

I get this squirrels over deer hunt..

We always want to shoot them.

I've seen more now. I'd be filing up the game bag here.

I still have not ate one. 😐
That's the way it usually is. See a dozen shootable deer when squirrel hunting, and a double limit of squirrels when deer hunting. Man above has a helluva good sense of humor😉

You, sir, are an underachiever. If you have never shot and ate a squirrel, then don't cha think its about time?

Deer are nice and all. Many of us depend on the meat from them for the year. But squirrel hunting is the best there ever was. I highly recommend you give it a try (WITH A TRADITONAL MUZZLELOADER) and see for yourself. If anyone thinks squirrel hunting with a trad ML is easy, then step right up and give it a try.

I think you will like it, Trigger. You certainly will be hooked for life. Its time you open a new chapter in your life and expand your horizons.

BTW, I consider myself a half-way decent deer hunter with all kinds of deer tools. You want to know how I learned how to deer hunt? From squirrel hunting.
