Is this only the lower Peninsula?

They attracting all the traffic to one place not the whole state?

So everyone from is going to hunt there. 🤔

It's funny.. I think there should be none of what they do there kinda..

I agree they manage everything horrible. Way Under policed to.

I'd split the hunters.. get rid of this big party.. do odd birthday season even birthday season or somtin.

Give 4 buck tags with the doe.. why not.. see what they all do.

I say leave what happens up to all them.. all on them..

12 tags.. any deer you want tags .. anywhere in the state.

There good for public land. Private land. Up down left right... good luck. 👍

Why they allow this?

There is no need for any light to shoot a deer at daylight. Legal..

Why would they even let anyone in the woods before daylight?

Lock the thread.. still off topic.

We have have wardens here. There bird dogging hunters. That we have and it's nice.

We are a bunch of rats 🐀 over here to..

We see somtin.. we call the game warden.. we police ourselves allot.

I curious on what it does?

Everything is pushed hard after opening day gun anyway.. there gone its done after that.

What's there to hunt..

Allow dogs to run them at that point. Who's going to move those deer for an organized group to shoot.

My friends and I lease 460 acres of farm land with corn and apples trees in Oceana County, MI It has a couple swamps that hold the deer and some areas unfarmed with tall grass. This is the first year that we shot mostly all bucks and didn't see much for does most of the season. I shot 2 8pts on November 15th, I have 2 doe tags that I bought and still haven't filled them. I literally sat in different blinds seeing 8, 2 10's, a 6pt and a 12pt everyday..... but no does, it's kind of crazy, I used to see 20-30 does in a single morning sitting out, now just a couple here and there.

You can use any center fire cartridge firearm except 22 rim fire. Shotguns, pistols, revolvers, crossbows, long bows, compound etc. are all legal. Yes you can use your muzzleloaders too..! Flintlock, percussion, in line. Even your b.p. pistols or revolver. I think I'll use my seven shot bolt action 50 cal BMG. Them whitetails are tough...lol
Just go online and double check the Michigan hunting rules.. The Upper Peninsula rules are different. Cheers
So you're saying that I, within spitting distance of Ohio, can use my AR-10 chambered in 6.5 CM for deer season?

Actually don't the rules also vary between the upper and lower half of the LP? I seem to recall, way back we could use BP ML, Bow and shotguns with slugs. And nothing else resembling a long gun.

It's been over 50 years since I've hunted deer in this state so I haven't educated myself on the current rules. I will say the last deer I took was one of those antlered dogs in Florida. I used my .54 cal TC Renegade. A 20 yard shot and it soured me on hunting for a long time. Did do a boar hunt in Morocco though. Took a lot of .223 to bring him down.

For private.. Anything along that stretch of river.. right on the river bank. You'll probably not get permission

Anything public is Detroit.. the public is real good before gun season opens.. it's still not easy though

Ah but, you're in the thumb. I'm 35 miles NW of Toledo. The county is agriculture for most part. Even today we have less than 100,000 people in the county. In the past I would just go out to a farmer I knew and ask permission. Nary a problem to find a place to hunt.

I think your confused about where I hunt. I'm in the Northwest corner of Michigan. You can't pay me enuff to get near Detroit, Ann Arbor, Lansing or any place else in Southern Michigan.! Only time I'm in Southern Michigan is when I'm driving out of Michigan....lol
I don't find things in the south to be too bad. Lenawee county is my home county and has been ignored by the state for over 60 years. And I am here because my 87 year old mother is still keeping her home here. Like you I have nothing good to say about Detroit. And have always felt we should bull doze it over to Windsor and give it to Canada. Might start a war though. Ann Arbor is a college town on steroids. If you want something college, that's the place to go. Lansing? Wish it were closer to Canada! Wish too Gretchen would stay there. Hillsdale county is a good one. Much like Lenawee but better schools and lots of farms.

They should allow dogs to run deer.
No they should not. IMHO

I've hunted with dogs in other states and it just isn't right. Plus it promotes the image of beer swilling red necks with the dogs howling in the distance.

I know the mess..

No ones going to shoot a doe.

That's the best way to do it.

Just stand where they tell you..

Shoot that doe right away.
