I've read that before also.Bwahaha a deer catching a fish - naww come on y'all.... I keep telling y'all to cut back on the Wild Turkey!!!
Don't put a hole in the deck CruiserAfter removing 20 + over the summer I still have two that are hanging out. They are scavenging apples off my tree. I don't mind that but I'm in the kitchen baking and just caught one on the patio ready to start chewing on a cushion. I'm ready to apply the final solution to these two. Was ready to tolerate them for the winter but they are wearing out their welcome.
When I post "no problem" it's finished.
That is one bad squirrel. We got some purty bad squirrels here in East Tennessee.

Very cold this morning, I know 44° might not be cold up north, but with a good bit of humidity and 9-12 MPH winds it's bone chilling.Good luck on your hunt, Fred.

Thanks for posting, Jim.Ok I’m ready to see this thread get righted. I too have got a lot of enjoyment from it.
so I showed you guys the cool looking squirrel my friend had on his feeder. View attachment 370116He wanted me to come over and shoot it. I said you shoot it and I’ll mount it. He brought it over yesterday lol. He put a hole through his feeder but he didn’t care. Haha.
The black on her back appears to me like it’s the underfur showing minus the guard hair. Also, her one eye is damaged.
I’m going to mount her climbing down a branch to show the back off. Her underside is normal.
I tried brother, she appreciated the gentle whispers but the deer didn't much give a rats ###.Whisper nice things to Blondie Fred, maybe get fresh backstraps for Christmas dinner!
Herbivores might be omnivores more than we think. Whitetails have been observed not only eating, but catching fish.
If those squirrels in the study were eating insects, they were already omnivores. I don't know if other squirrel types eat insects, but it wouldn't surprise me. They are smart and have the "tools" to catch and eat prey. Other rodents are omnivorous so why not squirrels?
My granddad always told us kids that squirrels will eat baby birds. I have never witnessed this. I remember seeing a documentary about some protected birds that nest on the ground. It was on an island supposedly no predators, but something was eating the baby birds at night.Indeed, squirrels are listed as omnivorous. They have been seen eating baby birds, insects, eggs, etc. IMO, they would have to be mighty hungry to choose that over some type of crop nuts or tree buds.
That's right we can't Surrender, somethings are definitely worth fighting for.NEVER surrender!
It's really quite believable when you consider that they keep it simple with tenkara.Bwahaha a deer catching a fish - naww come on y'all.... I keep telling y'all to cut back on the Wild Turkey!!!
To heck with the knife! I'd much rather have many of those type of squirrels in this neck of the woods to take care of all the copperheads and rattlesnakes. I'd go as far as to paint those snake-killing squirrels hunters orange just so I wouldn't accidently kill one of them. That is one bad squirrel.
I'd like to have his knife.
I wonder if it's one of Two Feathers Roach Belly Knifes.
Ha, I love that picture. Might even make it my screen saver. We got some purty bad squirrels here in East Tennessee.

Well, Fred. One thing is for sure. You can't kill them sitting home on the couch. Can't change the weather either.Very cold this morning, I know 44° might not be cold up north, but with a good bit of humidity and 9-12 MPH winds it's bone chilling.
No late season deer for me. I'll be back out there Monday. I have until about mid January unless I drive up to the panhandle. Saw a buck and a doe. They were on opposite sides of a wet weather pond, at different times. They just popped in sight and back out of sight.
We saw some squirrels right at daylight, no more after the first hour of daylight. I haven't hunted this WMA in a few years. We did see a lot of empty hickory shells and half eaten oaks. So I'll be able to get some squirrels after general gun season.
It was still a good time in the woods plus finding a good squirrel area.
Thanks EdWell, Fred. One thing is for sure. You can't kill them sitting home on the couch. Can't change the weather either.
At least you were able to get out there. Better luck next time.
Ed. You have a good point. Let's just hope that they stick to killing snakes. To heck with the knife!
