There was, back many many moons ago (possibly even in the dial up AOL days) a forum I was on that had a long running squirrel wars thread that got increasingly asinine and incredibly silly. I often wish I could find it again.
The sad part is, it doesn't have to be that way. Seems there's always someone out there that likes to ruin good things for others, no matter what it may be.

Sad, truly sad.

Ohh…..no. It was worth the time to read Asinine in a fantastic way. I’ve seldom laughed as hard at something on the internet as I did that one.

I know what you talking about.

Me 16 years old.. sounds familiar.

Early forums..
I was on I think Buckmasters when everyone got banned and left. Now they don't even have a forum I think. It was a good group there I thought I left with them. Banned brothers.

Sorry. Edit.
AOL rooms?...
Those AOL rooms were tuff.. there was topic thread bashing ithink scrolling viruses 18+ content. people jump in just to Make someone flip out and all..

They were both different. The early forum was good.

In lieu of over-charging your tubes... which I have done as well... I think I posted these months ago, but worth it again. Easy to see what you've got in there and I write on the caps the pre-measure. 20 for the .32 and 25 for the .36 with room to spare. I didn't max them out but I am pretty sure they'll hold 70-75 grains of 3F.

Clear snap-top 5ml tubes: 50 pieces
and some velcro backed shot shell holders, 12 and 20 gauge shot shell holders with velcro backer

Very handy if you have way to afix them in your bag/pouch etc... (not so much for you hard-core guys). I'm still stuck in my overly-practical state of ML hunting.

I like that setup..

Thanks for the link to the velcro shogun holders and all.

It gives me an idea. I might order one black one green. One for shot one for powder.

Thank you. That was worth the second post!!

I use these. The pouch in the backpack with the string to pull it out easy. For rabbit. Squirrel.

The crossbody bag for Pheasant. I'm thinking try those Shotgun holders in there.

I've posted my setup before somewhere also.

I remember that one. Most of the contributors were re enactors with a good degree of knowledge of how warfare was conducted in the day so it ended up being detailed and hilarious at the same time.

It may have been the MLML (Muzzle Loaders Mail LIst) but I'm not sure. Also possibly a very early iteration of American Long Rifles (ALR) enquiring over there might roust a few members who remember and may even have downloaded copies of it.

Omnivores!!

When I was a teen I hunted every weekend with my uncles during the UP partridge season (ruffed grouse). Nobody that I knew called them grouse. They were called partridge or just "birds".

Anyway, one evening several of us were cleaning our birds taken that day. The way it was done was to simply pull the skin off, cut off the legs and neck/head and then draw them out. While I was pulling the skin off one of my birds and came to the crop at the neck I saw a snake's tail in the crop. I grabbed the tail and pulled a small garter snake out. The head had already been partly digested so obviously it had been in the gizzard.

For some years after that our group no longer called them "Partridge" or "Birds". We called them Snake Eaters.
