    Ballistol as a rust proofer?

I haven't used it long enough to be able to tell about rust prevention, but Ballistol is a very good rust remover. I used it on a vise clamp that had surface rust on it due to being in storage room for about eight months. Ballistol did a good job removing the rust.

    Conical for Hog

Here's a site that has pictures of a hog dissection. The photos clearly shows where a hogs vitals are. http://www.texasboars.com/anatomy.html Hope that helps.

    Pyrodex / Triple 7 Q's

Pyrodex also has potassium nitrate, sulfur, and charcoal in addition to other stuff. So it may create concerns at the airport. What the other guys said is correct advice. I wouldn't bother with bringing my own powder. Pyrodex is extremely easy to find. Triple 7 in loose powder can be found...

.54 Lyman Deerstalker & Lee REAL question

I almost forgot. I'd like to thank Odinbreaker for pointing out that Black Jack Hill sells R*E*A*Ls. It took them two months to arrive, but at least it allowed me to try them out before commiting to a mold.

.54 Lyman Deerstalker & Lee REAL question

I got out to the range over the last month to try out my Deerstalker. I shot three shot groups from the sitting position. If it looked like there was a flyer in the group, I would shoot a fourth confirmation shot and eliminate the flyer. I don't want to penalize a load because of my error...

    FFg in a small bore

I've read about people using FFFg black powder in large bore MLs, but I haven't read anything about people using FFg in small bore rifles. I know that using FFg in a small bore will give lower velocities, but how's the accuracy with FFg?

US wolves taken off endangered list, clearing way for hunting

A much better post  Why didn't you just say that to begin with? I actually think more people see it your way than you think. I think that you got the main reasons what reasonable nonhunters (minus the ones who say "hunting is wrong" while they take a bite out of a beef burrito) don't...

If you or someone you know uses an air rifle, the tin that a lot of pellets come in work good too.

US wolves taken off endangered list, clearing way for hunting

I'm sure they are. I'd be very surprised if either PETA or the humane society don't challenge this change in court.

US wolves taken off endangered list, clearing way for hunting

My friend, Not trying to stir up anything, but rather than taking pot shots, why don't you explain your point of view and join the debate? There's nothing wrong if you have an opposing point of view. After all, it's not much of a debate if there's only one point of view. Besides, more people...

    .36 cal CVA Bobcat Question

Leaky Roof, That helps a lot. I'm going to try the sights that are on it, but if that doesn't work out, it's nice to know that I can replace it. I figured that with mass production that the Bobcat's sights would probably be interchangable with other CVA and even Traditions sights being that...

    .36 cal CVA Bobcat Question

Runner, I also noticed on the Gun Works website that they have a front blade made by CVA that looks like the same front blade on the Bobcat for $6. So if I need a new one, at least I know it's available. That, al ong with experimenting with different loads has eased my concerns about...

    .36 cal CVA Bobcat Question

Alwayshooting, No need to apologize my friend:) You're right in that adjusting the powder charge should make it higher or lower. If I need the POI higher, I can always back off the charge, or use FFg (or Pyrodex RS) instead of FFFg (or Pyrodex P) in order to slow the velocity down further to...

    .36 cal CVA Bobcat Question

So I have the choice between a gun that I can't adjust, or one where the sights fall off after field use. Great. I wish I had the money for a custom. It really stinks being poor :( Well, I guess if given the choice, I'd rather have sights that you can't adjust but at least will still be...

    .36 cal CVA Bobcat Question

I'm concerned about being able to make adjustment because it is a small game rifle. The skinny squirrels I've seen running around here in Mississippi have maybe a 2 inch vital zone, 3 inch max. You don't have a lot of play when it comes to cottontails and squirrels. I'm actually considering a...

    .36 cal CVA Bobcat Question

Runner, Thanks for the info. It sounds like a decent gun, but this lack of ability to adjust for elevation bothers me a bit. I don't like being locked in to one kind of patch because sometimes you can't get the brand you want because your source dried up, or they're out of business, etc...

    .36 cal CVA Bobcat Question

Guncobbler, Thanks for the response. So you can adjust for windage but not elevation. Have you had a chance to shoot it yet? Does it shoot pretty much on as far as elevation? Take my Deerstalker for example. My Deerstalker is adjustable for elevation, but not windage. The PRBs I shot at...

    .36 cal CVA Bobcat Question

I am considering getting a .36 cal CVA Bobcat from the Possible Shop. I'm curious if the rear sight is fixed or if it's adjustable?
