    Pre-inlet Lock or No?

    I did all of the inletting on my builds. The first one was a little tricky and the second one was a lot easier. Just be careful not to remove too much wood like I did on my first one just a little at a time. If you decide to tackle it yourself keep your tools sharp. Good luck which ever way you go.

    I just started gathering parts for my second build! I got a 38" swamped b weight 45 cal barrel, super premium blank, and a L&R Durs Egg flint lock. This build will be a southern mountain style with all iron parts

    Eterry I went with a 42" 7/8 colrein barrel in 50 cal finished with Laurel mountain barrel brown. I used mahogany leather dye on the stock rubbed back with oooo steel wool and finished with 9 coats of tru oil

    bad caps?

    This is a new build and the nipple is new. I did try pulling the hammer back a little farther back and dropping it and that did help. I hope it isnt the main spring because it is a new lock. On a side note the gun shoots great when it fires
