    Lancaster (custom) Rifle, .50 cal.

lancaster Co. rifles were built by a simple people, even the most decorated rifle was still simple. a star around the muzzle was about it for barrel engraving. calling that a lancaster rifle, to me, is a disgrace. and i thought northhampton Co. rifles were over done with inlays. this gun is...

    L&R lock tuning

well, i layed into the main spring with a file. the early results are good. english flints would either shatter or break teh front half off with in 2 strikes. the clear saw cut flints did'nt fair any better, usually with in 4 strikes they would shatter. since the filing, i've snapped it maybe...

    L&R lock tuning

how do you reduce the spring strength of a "V" spring? it's not a T/C lock, not coil springs in it anywhere.

    L&R lock tuning

is there anything i can do to tune one of these? i have one of their T/C replacement locks. it just annihilates flints. english or cut rocks it does not matter, though the saw cut flints last longer. igination time seems slower than the T/C lock it replaced. anything i can do, or 'am i SOL?

    RB's, conical, or sabot?

the 1:20 is pretty much intended for sabots. the 1:48 can do rbs nicely, though will do conicals better.

    another pecatonica stocked T/C

i shot it with the T/C hawkens stock for years, and everything seemed fine. i've not yet had it out in this form, but the balance point is just forward of the hindsight. it also seems to come to shoulder nicely.

    another pecatonica stocked T/C

    antiquing horns

this stuff. judging by it's purple color, i'd say it's the potassium permangante stuff. so i just flogged the whole thing, for about 45 minutes.

    antiquing horns

    antiquing horns

i'm guessing what i was planning on using is a dying solution? something called old bones, says to mix an ounce of the stuff with a gallon of water.then repeatidly dip tip the look you like is reached. what would an aqua fotrised horn look like?

    Schematics for T/C PA Flintlock?

i bought mine in '98 or 9 and i'm pretty sure that was one of the first years for it, or atleast i thought it was. it has geat lines, but it has rubber''buttplate'' on it, that's atleast 1/2'' thick. it totally ruins the look and feel of it :shake:
