    Removing bluing from barrel

I used Birchwood casey bluing remover. Probably is some variant of naval jelly but it works really well.

    black powder spill carpet

You might think about steam cleaning the carpet?? That should help draw more of the powder out of the carpet. Beyond that maybe a stronger vacuum like a shop vac?? Be careful of the vaccuum and static etc. that is why I think I would opt for a wet method like a steam cleaner.

    Teak oil as a finish??

I was putting teak oil on our patio set this weekend and started thinking about whether or not this would make a good finish for a rifle?? It dries well penetrates well and has a hand rubbed look to it when done. Has anyone tried it? If so what were the results??

    Breech Plug Wrench/Monkey wrench

I want to build a gun from scratch and have been slowly gathering tools to do this. One thing I found at a local antique store is a "monkey wrench" it is about 18" long with smooth jaws and in decent shape. Kind of like a pipe wrench but no teeth on the jaws. They are asking $20 for it. Do...

    Need help with TC Renegade

I have 2 of these guns and both like a 90 grain charge of FFg or 85 FFFg Goex. Both have the same POI and shoot very similar groups. I have noticed that in cold weather the FFFg load seems to do a little better and burns a little cleaner. I shoot 530 PRB with .018 pillow ticking from walmart...

    POI higher and lower....

Heavier bullets will generally impact higher because they are in the barrel longer and are effected more by the recoil/barrel rise. This is true only to a certain point for each given load then the bullet will drop more because of the added weight. This is all dependent though on the load. IE...
