    Loading Procedures?

Okay, I finally got back to the range yesterday and tried out running a clean patch down the bore AFTER loading the powder and PRB. Results were tighter groups @ 50 yds. I also did not experience any problems with the clean patch getting stuck. I believe this was due to the fact that when...

    Loading Procedures?

Hi all, I did a search using "loading" and couldn't find what I am looking for. What are the safest loading procedures for repeated firing of a percussion ML? My main concern is pouring more powder down the barrel after firing a shot. Do I need to swap with a wet patch to ensure no embers...

KNight Hot shot nipple in TC Renegade?

The nipple is the TC with the vent holes in the side. It probably has 200 rds through it but I can't see any signs of wear. I'm gonna keep it for a spare.

KNight Hot shot nipple in TC Renegade?

I don't think Pyro is the issue, the biggest problem is th cap failing to pop. Only had 1 fail to ignite the powder in the last 100 rounds.

KNight Hot shot nipple in TC Renegade?

I have been unsatisfied with my TC nipple. I have had some failures to fire (cap) and decided to install a Knight Hot shot. Anyone have any experiences with this nipple? I shoot Pyrodex in my Renegade so I also switched to CCI Magnum #11's. Thanks for any help or advice.

GM IBS TC BBl...drop in fit?

RB, That doesn't sound toom promising at all! Do TC Renegades vary so much that they can't make the barrels to fit without all that?

GM IBS TC BBl...drop in fit?

Thanks for the replies. I've heard folks rave about these barrels. I notice they're a bit longer than my stock Renegade barrel. Have yours given increased accuracy? Thanks again

GM IBS TC BBl...drop in fit?

Hi gents, I am considering on of the GM IBS barrels listed on Track of the wolf for my .54 Renegade. Will this set up drop right in? Or does it require fitting? Thanks PS How come the barrels are 1:70, I thought PRB barrels were usually 1:66

PLanning firs ML deer hunt...some advice

Thanks Bown Bear, I will be hunting from a tree stand, with my loads in those plastic tubes. I figure if something goes wrong (misfire) whatever, then I missed my chance. As for shooting away from the bench, not allowed at the range I go to.

PLanning firs ML deer hunt...some advice

Thanks Gentlemen, The 70 grain load grouped so good I was really inpressed with it. The 90 grain load didn't do bad, just not a 3 leaf clover like the 70 grain. They all grouped within 4".

PLanning firs ML deer hunt...some advice

Hi all, Next saturday I plan on using my .54 Renegade for the first time. I sighted it in at 50 yds with Hornady roundball. I used 70 grains Pyrodex, and it held 1" groups about 2" high. I also tried 80 and 90 grains. 80 grains shot almost as wll and 90 opened it up to about 2". If I stick...

Nice site you folks have here. I expect to lear a lot. I have a 54 TC Renegade that has sat idle for about 10 years along with my Pietta 44 Remington. Now that me and my front loaders are reaquainted, I look forward to having some fun with them. Any muzzleloader groups around San Antonio?
