It is great looking and I like how it curves for a right handed shooter. Just don’t know if it would go with my early mountain man outfit.

    WITHDRAWN M1855 Rifle Musket

I have an 1863 but mine is shorter. Don’t know why. I guess they made them that way for a reason. I had a guy that made competition barrels for these guns make me one with the double leaf site. The old barrel was shot on the inside.

    How old are ya?

Sounds like we are a dieing breed. Not good I’m just really getting into flintlocks and would like to get out and shoot with other people. Like the folk firearms collective I’ve seen on YouTube. That looks fun and now that I have more time on my hands to travel.

So, You Want A Peep Sight....

That’s a great idea. My 2 main guns I’m working on right now have peeps on them. I love them for hunting. But was considering going to a couple walk through shoots to meet people with the same interest. And see I can’t shoot them because of the peep. Don’t know if they would let me shoot for fun...

    Recommendations for first flintlock

Why 45 and not 50. Old timers alway said start with a 50 if you are going to hunt. Can hunt about anything with it. I did and wasn’t ever sorry

    2f in a large bore

That’s where I make my line 50 cal. And up I use 2f. Below 50 cal. I use 3f. Just how I was taught by the old timers
