    Damaged GPR barrel

Thank you everyone for your responses; everything was helpful. I now believe the issue was using WD 40. I was able to clean out the barrel, and it is smooth and shiny all the way to the breach. I will never use WD 40 on my guns again.

    Damaged GPR barrel

"I seen the problem right off" sounds like the line from the movie Jeremiah Johnson. Nicely done.

    Damaged GPR barrel

I’m not sure exactly how I damaged the barrel. I’ve had the gun for 15 years and have gone shooting countless times, and have always cleaned it thoroughly later the same day with warm water, then dry it, and then coat with WD-40. Broke Off Barrel Lugg On GPR Rifle

I solved the problem with my replacement GPR barrel. The wedges wouldn’t fit through the lugs, so here’s how I fixed it. I loosened the front tang screw one revolution, and the back screw one-half revolution. That didn’t help much. Next I used a small flat file to file away the metal on the...

Broke Off Barrel Lugg On GPR Rifle

I just bought a replacement barrel, from Lyman, for my GPR. I have the same problem, both lugs are bent in towards the barrel and block the wedge pins.

Cap popped, rifle didn't fire, until later

I'm very grateful to read this and learn a hang-fire can shoot 5 minutes later. This is a very important safety tip. I wish there was a SAFETY forum, where everyone could post stuff like this. We can all learn and be safer.

Hi, Does anyone know where I can buy a replacement barrel for a Lyman GPR 54 caliber, right-hand, percussion, about 1/60 twist, blued steel? Seems hard to find since Lyman's recall. Thank you, Flint-Hunter
