    Ruger Old Army

Poor Private That was federal. Haven't heard anymore about a bill. Wait until the primary elections settle down. Then the Schumers and Kennedys will start the fires up. Nothing is safe. Join NRA Nobody else speaks for us

    Ruger Old Army

Not anymore they're not. There was a piece in the news a couple of weeks ago about some jackass shooting someone with a cap and ball pistol. Several of our great senators or congressmen have hollered about closing the prior to 1898 antique gun "loophole".

Think Muzzleloading & Shooting NEEDS to return to it Roots

I agree. I have been involved in shooting sports for 45 years. I sometimes get tired of receiving 3 or 4 mailings a week from the NRA asking for donations as I am sure that rest of you do. But who else will defend our rights on a national level? What bothers me more than anything else is the...

    Converters and the law

The laws here are so confusing that most lawyers are not able to answer this question properly. I suggest that you contact GOAL (Gun Owners Action League) 508-393-5333. They can give you some advice. They will specify that their information is not intended as legal advice. They can direct you to...

Hey Zonie & Other smart guys.

Contact Ruger and arrange to send the gun to them. They will make it right, no questions asked.

    Pedersoli Kentucky pistol

I have another comment about Pedersoli flintlocks. The vent on my .45 caliber pistol is far too low. Drilled below center on the barrel flat. The smallest amount of primer was almost too much.It took a lot of effort to keep the primer from covering the vent. The Pan is very thick so I ground it...

    Pedersoli Kentucky pistol

I have a Pedersoli kentucky piatol in .45 caliber. I did a little stoning on the lock and trigger to improve the trigger pull. The gun is very accurate at 25 yards. But I have to agree, the idea of holding the barrel to the stock with a screw is unnecessarily cheap. I guess you get what you pay for.

    Crockett rifle breach-fix-

I am having similar problems with the Crocket. What kind of wrench did you use to remove the breech plug? There is nothing under the tang to fit a wrench to. The only place I see is the top and bottom flats of the plug. Also, what diameter rod and jag are you using? The smallest diameter listed...

    Crockett rifle

I purchased a Crockett rifle based on all the positive comments I have seen on the forum about accuracy mostly. Received it yesterday. The hammer and nipple don't line up very well. The nipple leans toward the hammer and the hammer is bent a bit too far over the barrel. The hammer cup appears to...

Secrete link to sidelocks at CVA site.

I recently saw a post somewhere (maybe a vendor site) that said that the ATFE considers in-line muzzleloaders that use a center fire primer to be modern firearms and subject to the same regulations. It probably won't be long before states change regulations once the anti's get wind of this. CVA...

    question

The formula for front sight adjustment or replacement is: Record: error on target in inches distance to target in inches sight radius in inches. divide error on target by distance to target, multiply by sight radius. If rear sight is adjustable, adjust to middle of it's adjustment limits to...

Shot my Pedersoli Flinter today -dialup beware

I would be very careful about tapping that nosecap. The screw in the nosecap is the only thing holding the front end of the barrel in the stock. There is no underlug on the bottom of the barrel. Those four pins are all holding the thimbles.

    Pedersoli Flint Pistol

Aussie Bob; you are correct. Boy do I have egg on my face. I have seen "Patent Breech" mentioned many times over the years but assumed it referred to breech loading guns only. I googled "Patent Breech" and found a description that explains the concept. It seems that most or all black powder arms...

    Tom Fuller English Flints

I have seen a number of mentions of Tom Fuller flints in Muzzleloader magazine. Anybody out there know who sells them? Are they that good? Why? :thanks:

    Pedersoli Flint Pistol

Received a .45 caliber Pedersoli pistol last week. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. The vent is drilled a bit below center so that the vent hole is only slightly above the bottom of the pan. Past experience with flintlocks tells me that this might cause ignition problems. I'll have to wait...
