    1829 WBlake

Looks like it's in its original length. I wouldn't call anything on it in poor condition. Probably saw some hard use. That being said I wouldn't shoot it, hang and enjoy. Rammer was replaced at some point. All the patina looks the same, and the stock cartouches are nice. Id say it's a good deal.

    Enfield P53 reproductions

I agree with the design issues of the Enfield. I have and original Enfield, and when shouldered, it has a long pull length, but I don't have any issues getting behind the sights. Then shoulder my original M1861, and it's sooooo much more comfortable. I don't think Union or Confederate were...

Ideas for filling chip in stock?

Id just rub some blackpowder in it the next time you go shooting. Isn't worth a fix. It looks like a roll pin holding the frizzen. That's a new one.

    Enfield P53 reproductions

Go on to Lodgewoods website and look at his defarbs. He gives a good description of what he had to do to a variety of different makers. Even the Parker Hale which is the best, is not a perfect Civil War Enfield, needing parts and shaping to be more correct. Quality wise both Pedersoli or Parker Hale

    Seeking Information

I think most are going to ask for better pics first off. From what I see, some kind of British musket, maybe commercial?Has a much later replacement ramrod. Get close ups of the lock, all the brass furniture, then others will be able to give you better info.

Exceptional Colonial American Period Flintlock Ketland & Co.Trade Gun

I'm not so sure. The take down feature was found on expensive guns of the time. This is not an expensive gun. Why go through the work for a firearm that would have been put together quickly? It's the first I've ever seen like that.

    HILLBILLY HOCKEY STICK

Doesn't Kibler make one of these? ;)

    Committee of Safety musket?

Or it was made by a gunsmith in a poorly lit shop, using tools that some would say are primitive to what most builders use today. But it's probably poor gunmaking. We can't judge an original piece with our exacting standards we use today. They didn't think that way when building. The pin not...

    My 2nd Scratch Build

Nice rifle. Not to open the whole 18th century workman like argument, but the brass looks like it has file marks on it( buttplate in the pics) That needs to be polished out, then age if you like to. Polish is not necessarily meant shiney, but a smooth even finish on the surface. Id use a little...

    Committee of Safety musket?

I've been told by an arms restorer that Annely guns used to be some of the most faked guns out there. Not that the parts aren't original, but that the name faked. I guess the checkering could have been added later, but something just isn't right there. I once saw an Annely marked long Fowler at...

    Original 1844 Springfield smoothbore

Looks like a overly cleaned M1842 made at Springfield or Harpers Ferry Arsenal. If the lock has 1844 on it, the breech of the barrel should too, along with a VP and Eagle. I say that because the patina on the lock is different from the barrel, so it could be a replaced part. That could have...

    WITHDRAWN M1855 Rifle Musket

I'm sorry of I didn't make it clear in my post, but any trade has to be equal to my $1800 trade value. That can be in any item or items, or items plus cash. I appreciate the offers but I can not trade this musket for TC Renegades or other items of similar value. It has to be an equal trade. Thanks.

Repro Enfield rifle musket hammers ain’t right.

TRS also has them.... If you can wait

    WITHDRAWN M1855 Rifle Musket

BTT Back up for trades. I like Civil War items, but let me know what you have. Maybe a flintlock musket or rifle, any quality kit, other Percussion guns like mountain rifles. Love for this ole musket to go to someone who will appreciate it. It's shootable, but I just collect them. Let me know...

SOLD 1863 Springfield by Miroku (price reduced)

You got better eyes than me, they all look blue. Maybe some rubbing due to taking the bands in and off?

SOLD 1863 Springfield by Miroku (price reduced)

On these Springfield's the barrel band springs and rear sights were blued, the lock could be case hardened. The rest of the gun has the armoury bright finish. I believe the gun is correct the way it is.

    Need more pics too!

    Help with flintlock musket please

The metal bands on the front look Mediterranean or African. It might not even be as old as the Civil War. The stock is fancier than normal, has a French look.

    1864 Colt Musket

It's a Colt lockplate, but a Springfield hammer it looks like, so from the other pic it appeared as a Springfield. I believe Colt barrels had STEEL stamped on the opposite side by the VP and Eagle. See if that's there, then you could say a Colt musket with a replacemen hammer. I agree just leave...
