ALL TC OWNERS - NEWS and a WARNING!

Tim Pancurak was a very good person to deal with! I no longer have a TC sidelock, nor do I have my Contender any longer. TC service was ok of late, but no where near when Tim was there. In my opinion for what it is worth.

    left handed shooters

When I shot percussion I used RH guns with no problems. Now I shoot flinters and have two customs by Jackie Brown, both LH. I think if you were to shoot RH flint, it would be very important to ALWAYS wear shooting glasses. I wear glasses always, even for hunting.

    Custom vs Production

I think we should ask Claude for a smiley face that thumps his own chest so we will know for sure who does it, and when they do it! ( that is provided we use it?)

    Pattern Density of Cylinder Bore

I dont have a clue as to whether this is a historical method, however I use 100% cotton resume' paper to make wads which I size to the amount of shot I want to use. I hand crimp the bottom and use a thin shot card over the top. Works for me and also improves my patterns in my jug chokes somewhat.

    Early T/C Hawken Accuracy

In the 70s and 80s I had two TC side lock Renegades in 50 and 54 cal. And both shot VERY well right out of the box. I dont have them any more simply because I decided to get into Flinters and bought customs because I am a lefty.

    Idaho Buck

    Nov 4 flinter waterfowl hunt

The geese were harvested by pass shooting them between the flowage and a picked corn field. I was standing next to a small spruce tree on the edge of a small planted prairie on our farm. The ducks were jumped off conservation ponds.

    Nov 4 flinter waterfowl hunt

I use different wild game recipes all the time. I like best marinating and using a slow cooker or nesco roaster. This batch is marinating now to make jerky. I ground the meat before marinating and will use my oven to dry. Jerky made from ground meat is easier for us old guys to bite and chew...
