There's really very few people who frequent this forum that I'd consider sending money to for building a custom Flintlock.
If someone thumps their own chest to try to promote themselves as the end all to muzzleloading, instead of allowing unsolicitied rave reviews to surface from many satisfied customers, they'll never get my business.
Character is everything and the quietest ones speak the loudest.

If someone thumps their own chest to try to promote themselves as the end all to muzzleloading,
So, you'll never buy a gun from Paul V?
I'm sure this comment was probably aimed at me....show me one instance where I even remotely hint anyone should ever buy anything from me or that my guns are some how superior to any other gun builders products. I'll expect an opology shortly, and I'm serious. :nono:

I think we should ask Claude for a smiley face that thumps his own chest so we will know for sure who does it, and when they do it! ( that is provided we use it?)

....where's my violin...

I agree with what you are saying . Here is the breath of it. I shoot a OTC lyman GPR this gun is a meat maker it's not HC but it is a meat maker ,it has never let me down even with it's bad Geom. cock I can't imagine a custom gun shooting any better than my GPR so I have no need for a 2,000 $ gun  It could be one gun in a million but it is mine :blah:

Owning an expensive custom gun seems to change a person. You on the other hand have stayed pretty much the way you were, from your posts anyway, but I still feel you love your new acquisitions. I on the other hand have found out, the expensive way, I don't like long barreled rifles. I like to hold them and look at them and feel them but I don't like shooting or cleaning them. Flintlocks need to be fun for me and not a chore. Why don't you see this bickering about guns on the Percussion side? It seems to only affect flintlocks. Is that because there are more custom flintlock builders than percussion builders?

Although my favorite gun is made of TC parts it is somewhat a custom gun as it uses a GM barrel and a Davis trigger and TOTW sights. The lock and stock remain TC. I need to check on someone that builds a Jäger or full stock Hawken with 32 to 35 inch barrel in 54.

"It could be one gun in a million but it is mine."

And that is the right down to the ground point of the whole deal!

This is not aimed at anyone in particular, but I think we're all getting tired of people turning topics into person feuds. Please try to stick to the subject matter and stop posting petty comments about other members.

I know this will be difficult for some of you, but my patience with this is running out and I'm ready to start deleting accounts. I would rather have half the members we do, and have them get along, than what we have right now.

And, I'm sick of hearing about how great this forum was before someone "ran off" all the good people/experts. If things are so bad here - leave.
