    Alvin C. York Memorial Shoot

Gary Test won the match with a 2.44 match record score. Neil Eddington was 2nd, Dave Krumme was 3rd. I was waaaayyy lower in the hamburger class.

    Alvin C. York Memorial Shoot

The way I've been practicing, I'll be happy just to stay in the black. Hope mine and my wife's schedule will let me go to Round Bottom.

I really hate to hear that. Paul was such a great guy.

    McCloud flintlock?

I bought a .45 flintlock fullstock rifle at a gunshow today. There are no markings on the barrel, but it's 35" long, has round bottom grooves, and the rear sight is dovetailed 14.5" from the breech. Looks like a small Siler lock. The barrel and lock are browned and it was an excellent job. All...

You KNOW You're A Traditional Muzzleloader...

Or that you know that lead doesn't melt that fast when casting balls over a campfire like it did in the Patriot...

    Cleaning subs vs BP

If I didn't have a local source for Goex, I would have no problem with using Triple 7. I bought a box of ammo and muzzleloading supplies at an auction one time and there were two cans of Triple 7 in the box. I've shot most of one of the cans, it shoots good and cleans up good as well.

    t/c hawken stock

A guy on a local gun sales site has one of these for sale and I had never seen a T/C Hawken with a laminated stock before so I searched online and this thread popped up in the results. The bore is rusted terribly however, too bad.

    Loaded Rifle

Some people use wasp nests as an over powder wad to protect the patch from powder burn. He may be using it as much as a layer of protection for the powder from the patch lube.

    2 pawn shop T/C's in 50 cal

Bob Hoyt or Ed Rayl would be the ones to ask about reboring to .54. It would depend on the depth of screw holes whether they can or not.

    Inaccurate TC 50 cal barrel

I had him rebore a .50 T/C to .54 about 6 weeks ago and it was worth every penny. It went from borderline useless at anything other than about 30 yards to fantastic.

    Sgt. York

Took about 5 hours, making that trip was worth every second even though I'm pretty sure that was the worst I've ever shot in a match. It may be a year before I'll be able to go but I definitely want to shoot there again.

    Can I salvage my barrel?

What is the full length of the barrel?

    Sgt. York

The book Sgt. York by John Perry says that York sent his own personal rifle for Gary Cooper to use and that the producers wanted an extra rifle. They sent a check for $250 to someone working for the State to find them one. He sent them back 4 rifles and a check for $50...
