    preignition launch

    If I leave the old cap on with the hammer down I cannot get the new patch and ball to seat, kind of air locks about one quarter of the way down.

    Range Report--1st trip for

    breaking in barrel?

    Did about 200 shots through the GPR, patches come out looking like I could reuse them now and groups are a lot better. Shooting balls rather than lapping seemed like a lot more fun to me :winking: :winking:

    Swamp barrel question

    My Dickert has a swamped 42 inch 40 cal Green Mountain barrel, and suprisingly you can hold it up real easy. I think any future ones will be swamped. dont know why I said any should have been the :rotf:

    Well were getting it slimmed down. Worked on lock panels and comb and rounded out the forestock areas, hope it meets with approval. Going to take a break for awhile and get the boat ready for the comming charter season. When the stain gets here were gonna think about finishing her. The pictures...

    Swampman, they call it european walnut, whatever that is. Its about 10 times harder than the maple stock im working on now.

    OK guys, now I got some good pics to look at,most of the books dont really show the comb area that good, and the lock area seems to be a big blur. Thanks for the insight, will go back to sanding and filing somemore. :bow: Gary
