    On my GPR the wedge pins are two different lengths. The longer one goes in the rear and the shorter wedge pin goes in the front (closer to the muzzle) from right to left as your looking at the gun with the muzzle pointed straight away. Also if the tang is too tight the wedge pins on my GPR...

    Tools in the field ?

    Cleaning jag, ball puller, patch worm, screwdriver, small bar to tighten the jaws for the flint. All go in my possibles bag with the rest of my supplies.

    .530 or .535 for a .54 lymans GPR

    I use .530 Hornady's with a pillow ticking patch in my GPR with great results. As cowpoke describes in his post, I also drilled my touch hole out to 5/64 and use Black English flints.

    I drilled the touch hole out on my Lyman GPR to get better ignition. How much if any does this negativley affect performance? I was wondering if the loss in pressure could create significantly lower velocitites.
