    sight recommendations for GPR

    With my 60 year old eyes and have trouble see the sights in bad light. I ordered the Lyman fiber optic sights for hunting. Looks like they will help. Youth is wasted on the young when it comes to useing open sights. :grin:

    Been in it for 35+ years. People remark about the carzed look I get when I handle a new m/l. Always tinkering with my rifles. And acting like a kid when I shoot true. Yes it does get to you bad.

    I've used the same maxi but 100grs. of b/p. I never take a shot over 75 yards. So try to get in close.

    How many coats of tru-oil should I apply to my GPR stock. Need to protect it from rain in snow. I've applied 3 coats to the barrel channel and stock. Should I apply more of not. Thanks, Bob.

    PA Primative / traditional

    Here in Utah we have a late season hunt for doe, It is in Dec. You can use M/L, bow or shotgun. Got a nice doe and does she taste good.

    32" GPR in 54 cal. I like the extra weight out front. I do mainly still hunting here in Utah.

    Hunting..50 or 54?

    I have killed both mule deer and elk with both, 50 and 54. I've used the 54 for hunting this year, more killing power mainly on elk. Will more than likely go more and more with the 54.
