    Pure lead shot is not as effective as hardened shot. It will deform going down the barrel causing more flyers. This is the main reason that modern shells went to plastic wads to pevent shot from deforming. Berk

    Go visit a trap or skeet range. About anyone ther will be able to tell you where to get the cheapest shot. they my be abil to tell you where to get reclaimed shot if your interested in such a thing. Berk

    Barrel browning

    I had a barrel that I was having trouble killing the rust on. I had some STP oil treatment and applied it pretty heavy left it over night and then wipped off the excess. Never had any trouble after that. Berk
