    Small flintlock pistols?

Better to stay with the pistols from Roy. They will be original like the originals and save to shoot. No possible time bombs like backyard productions from Khyber pass.

    Some newbie help?

:hmm: According to your description of a good gun, I would suggest go for a full custom made high end rifle. Your sentence about plinking is still difficult to interpret for a european newbie here. As a full custom rifle has its price, this my be the argument for a semi custom or Pedersoli...

    hand and spring

For my Rogers & Spencer, hand and spring though they are two parts are only as hand assembly from the manufacturer available. Might be that at a special shop in Germany the parts are seperat available but I doubt it. That would require a phone call to check it out.

    Can a round ball keyhole?

There is no more to say to keyholes by RB. Real key holes are from Maxiball's for example. If that occurs, you use either not enough powder to compress the maxiball in the first place. But that is unusual. It occurs when the tail is even only slightly dammaged. The tail must be perfect. A...

    nipples

As Italian made, they should generally have nipples in M6 * 0,75 mm. But no rule withput examption. With designation as advertised in germany and procuctions running ver decades, there are sometimes little differences within the weapons. The Pietta should have M6 *0,75 mm, or M6 * 0,75 RS The...

    Philadelphia Darringer??

 May be you should set up the papaer target, find out where your balls hit and and than go on hitting the metallic silhouettes? :v

    Philadelphia Darringer??

Mine is made by Ardesa, Spain. They recommend a .440 ball. Seems as if their .45 barrels are made for .440 balls with 0.1" thick patch. That is my experience with that manufacturer. If the .440 ball with patch fits (very) lightly, the .445 will be tighter.

    Philadelphia Darringer??

You may file on your hammer to improve ignition of the caps: lock with hammer other side The screwed spring may be a little bit week.

    Philadelphia Darringer??

The marked 20 grain setting out of the powder measure device with Wano PPP is a good load. I agree on the ball and the patch. That is what I used. You can hit but you need to try out how to aim at the desired range to the target. If you have targets on different ranges, try out and when you...

    Small flintlock pistols?

Then the Twigg pistol is about the size of a Philadelphia Derringer in .45 with 2 1/2" barrel made by Herny Deringer? The second pair is even nicer. Thank you for the fingers. That is really small. Good to hide. And I do not want to be on the rceiving end, even the .32. Yes, I understand that...

    Load for 45.cal?

The powder measurer are by volume though there are written in xy grains at the marks. When I wrote 30 grain, that refers to the mark on the powder measurer saying 30 grain which is arbitary as it is a volume.

:hatsoff: Nice little pistol. Saving at twelf over a year, you must have wanted that pistol very much. :v Have you ever shot it?

    Load for 45.cal?

Can't say for Pyrodex as I have never used it. You may substitute Swiss Nr. 2 by Wano PPP and take the same loads. You may even take Wano PP into condsieration with the same load Therefore you migth take Swiss Nr. 3 or FF as comparable to Wano PP. You should not substitue by Swiss Nr 1 oder...

    Load for 45.cal?

Can't say for Pyrodex but in comparison for Swiss Nr. 2 or Swiss FFF. You may start as low as 30 grains with a .440 or .445 RB. 40 grains migth do well. Make different charges before going to the range and shoot groups of five or ten shoots of equal charge. May be 30, 35, 40 and 45 grains. No...

    Powder charge at 25 yards

Shooting at the range and using no more powder than necessary. :hmm: That sounds like shooting on paper targets. German rule says (target shooting): 2,5 gramm powder / 1 cm barrel diameter = 98 grain / inch should be maximum for rifle. Makes 49 grain for a 50 caliber as max load. Would...

"Ideal" offhand barrel length for 13/16", 36?

That depends on you and what suits your needs. I long barrel which makes you drop the muzzle does not help in off hand shooting. You should be able to hold, aim and hit with the rifle and don't wobble to much. On the other side, long barrel, long sight line. If you can, try some rifles in...
