    Casting 250 gr r.e.a.l. bullets

Anybody shoot these out of a fast twist? Wondering what kind of accuracy your getting. I made a bunch but have not had a chance to shoot some off.

    Possible stupid question

I have a 56 t/c renegade with a 1 inch octagon barrel and im wondering if a 54 cal t/c 1 inch octagon barrel will fit right on?

    #11 caps falling off nipple

Never had that problem with any kind of the #11s. Just give them a little squeeze before you put them on and check your nipple too. Maybe got a little flattened out.

    Pyrodex More Corrosive Than Black?

I think this a cleaning, or lack of cleaning issue. ALL bp and the subs are corrosive if left for extended time without cleaning. Good cleaning and lube after and this could of been prevented. I personally dont like pyrodex, i shoot goex. Not sure if its less corrosive but it is a lot easier to...

    Using shot with T/C .56

To be honest, this will be the first year shooting shot out of mine. Ive only used prb but people are telling me not to expect anything more than 25 yds for shot. I will also be using it for turkey. The paper cartrige might help like you said, maybe get 10 more yds or so. Let me know how it...

    Using shot with T/C .56

I have the same, people have told me just use equal measure of shot and powder by volume. I would start at 80 gr powder and go up by 5 gr and see what kind of pattern you get. No more than 100 gr but i think youll have better results between 80-90 gr powder.

    Dreamin of my first!

Good luck to you. I shot my first white tail last year but come to find out my friend shot him first. I gave up the deer doing the friend thing even though he only skinned the deer and it never would of died, sooo im still looking for my first one too.

    Quick second shot?

I agree, even if its not a perfect shot then odds are it will bed down and bleed out not too far away. Thats why is just sit and wait.

    Ball, Bore, and Patch Combinations?

For my .56, i use a .550 ball with a .018 patch. I did measure the inside bore a while back but dont remember what it was exactly but it was very close to .56. Whatever caliber or gauge you choose, it should fit snug for best accuracy.

    Quick second shot?

Thats exactly what i do, always take my time to load a second shot then sit and have a smoke to calm my nerves.lol

How do ya plan to get your Gobbler this Spring?

This is gonna be my first year hunting turkey with my t/c 56 smoothbore. Once it warms up here some im gonna get out and try some different loads. Im thinking about starting with 90 ffg goex and the same volume of #5 shot and see what that gives me. If i can get a good pattern out to 25 or 30...

    typs of nipples

I change them because i shoot a lot and they tend to get smashed up and not hold the cap as good. When i go hunting, always a brand new nipple.

    typs of nipples

Ive only used t/c #11's. Ive never had a misfire. I keep a handful on hand. I have a few i use for plinking and i keep a couple of new ones for hunting.

IF you had only one caliber to choose

First, 56 smoothie for me, and i wouldnt shoot my smoothie past 50 yds for a kill shot. Here in NH the average kill shot is only 20 to 30 yds. At that range my 56 is a tack driver all the way up to 50 yds.

    Gun Cleaning

I agree with Rifleman, Pyrodex is nasty stuff. I shot 4 loads from a brand new can and gave it away. Get some Goex....waaaay easier to clean. I think youre cleaning will be cut in half from what youre doing now.
