    Almost Done

Well fellas, I have spent about 25 hours working on that Tulle, that I bought. It was built, but the builder had the sight on crooked, the sides of the forend were uneven and there were some pretty deep gouges here and there. Necessity being the mother of invention etc. I went ahead and blued...

Historically correct is what I am after, having seen Brown bess's polished until you could see your reflection, and other fowlers in the white with a nice gray patina, I am trying to determine what and how to finish this one.

    1750-1765 Tulle what finish

Well, Larry just calls it a Tulle, but it looks darned close to the Fusil De Chase on Page 22 of Bouchard's book. 42" Octagon to round, wood all the way to the muzzle, Walnut, Iron mounted, three thimbles, 28Ga Plain sideplate. Best method for polishing to "armory brite"? I have been busy...

    Lemat range report

Took the Navy Lemat to the range today. We didnt do any "bench rest" accuracy tests but instead shot one handed duelling style at a 8" bullseye and at pop cans. Range was 25 yards. Loaded 30gr Pyrodex P in the cylinders and fired, all 9 on the 11x11 target paper! 2 were near bullseyes. next...

I figured walnut would be the way to go, but the darn wait! BTW this will be my first build, so any input would be appreciated, I could see a transitional long rifle, but was very interested in a shorter barrel as this will also serve as a white tail gun, in the Ohio territory. I have a...
