    Hunt Diary Australia

I have learned that big pigs, at least the Florida ones I have shot in the past, tended to be tough. So when opportunity arises I go for the 100 lb and under pigs. With a big pig one could make a lot of sausage. Grind it twice and spice it up.

    Hunt Diary Australia

Excellent hunt. It almost sounds like the stags you hunt have some habits like our whitetailed deer. You were hunting rubs and using a call.

    SE Tn Turkey

Excellent hunt. Gotta wait for April 29th for turkey here.

    Hunt Diary Australia

I would relish any lengthy writ on hunting in your nation with a muzzleloader. I have always been intrigued by your country since a young adult who was exposed to Bush Tucker man on cable tv.

Are you planning to do a chronograph test of the new powder? I have heard all kinds of accolades regarding this new black powder. I am tempted to get an order of 3f myself for future use.

Walker Hog Harvest Planned To Celebrate NRA DX w/ Revolver!

I wish you the best of luck on Mohr's Island. I had read about that island hunt. It sounds interesting and might be a great opportunity if you are limited in any distance. Like any animal, placement is the key. That Walker loaded with a good load of H777 or Swiss 3F should do a job on them.

Walker Hog Harvest Planned To Celebrate NRA DX w/ Revolver!

I am not sure if this is allowed but there is a yahoo group for percussion revolvers. A number of the members hunt a variety of game with the Walker and other percussion revolvers. A group from Florida frequently takes them down with either heavy conials or round balls.Look them up and see some...

    Getting ready for Turkey season

My plan for the Massachusetts season is as follows. Opening Day is April 29th. The plan is to take three vacation days to hunt central Masssachusetts heavy and hard to fill my two gobbler tags. If it is dry, I plan to use my TC New Englander that has been converted to flint. If it is rainy...

    bacpack hunt

Congratulations to a wonderful hunt. I suspect that more hunters from the US don't go to Australia is because they aren't sure how to go about it. I know one could go with a guide and outfitter but that would add up to a large lump of cash.

    Getting ready for Turkey season

It sounds like you have a good hunting load. Hunting turkey can be fun but tough at the same time. The shooting part isn't as difficult as the calling in part. Our turkey season here in Massachusetts will not open up until the last monday in April. Due to a glitch in the calendar this year...

    Pocket Police

Very nice. That gun seems to balance very well in the hand. It reminds me of a Ruger Single Six in frame size and handling. A great field peice.

    big bunny

Great images and congratulations. We have some snowshoe hare in our area but not too many. Although while deer hunting I did find hare droppings in a swampy area along with a fox toilet area. We got almost a foot of snow so I may take a walk after work one day to check it out. I love those...

    It's Official: Coyotes

It is too bad that Maine stopped the snare program. That was one thing that put a serious dent in the coyote population. Trapping is the best way to deal with that issue. One of the more successful methods in the New England area for coyote hunting is to use a bait pile. Often you set one up...

    New tv show-Copper

I am looking forward to watching it tommorrow night at 10 PM on BBC America. The trailers on BBC intrigued me. The setting is NYC in 1864 with the main character being an Irish policeman in what appears to be the Five Points district. The fact that he is carrying a percussion revolver adds to...

Wonderful shot. Chuck hunting can be a great deal of fun.

Opening Day in the Bay State

I arose bright and early. Well, not too bright as getting up at 4:00AM is a bit rough. I donned my apparel and headed to the club where I hunt and shoot quite a bit. Try to picture this in your mind. At the club entrance the road heads north. Parallel to this entrance road is a main road about...

    Ontario Turkey

Excellent shooting. Normally when I envision Ontario I do not think of turkey but of moose and bear. The region you hunt in must be unique and rewarding in many ways.
