i'm expecting the arrival of 5 lbs of 2F olde eynsford today. i'll be doing some comparisons to swiss 2F in both my long range target rifle and both my muzzleloading shotgun and flint fowler. this should be interesting..

Are you planning to do a chronograph test of the new powder?

I have heard all kinds of accolades regarding this new black powder. I am tempted to get an order of 3f myself for future use.

yes i'll be chronographing all loads, i will try to do some comparison to regular GOEX as well. i think a friend of mine has some. if not, i have some old chrono data from regular GOEX.

i recieved it today so hopefully this weekend i can get out and do some work.

A while back I reads some of their adds and it does sound interesting. I to will be looking forward to seeing your results! Geo. T.

I am waiting to see it "disassembled" to see if "something new has been added".

that would be very interesting to myself as well. That however is beyond my ability, I am however open to suggestions.

As fast and as clean as the stuff shoots it's hard to believe. It's also showing good accuracy.
Here's the statement put out today about the rumors and questions that have arisen.

Dear Distributors,

I’m writing this to quell any rumor or concern regarding our new match grade sporting black powder, Olde Eynsford.

Olde Eynsford is authentic black powder. There are no special additives in Olde Eynsford and it is not a smokeless powder.

Hodgdon/Goex is committed to the success of Olde Eynsford. After having received positive reports from award winning competition shooters, the tweaking is done. We can now concentrate on future production, making certain that Olde E is available to all who demand excellence.

Thank you for your continued support and patronage.

Do you plan on doing the leach test? Also compare the polishing of the two powders because that is where the magic is at.

Well, Its the 9th so you should have had PLENTY of time to go shooting by now. Heck I would call in sick just to go shooting myself.

Here. First image was taken from the Swiss book, the second from KIK.

thanks for shareing, that pretty interesting. it's not a test that i will be performing, i hadn't planned on getting that indepth. hopefully someone else will though.

so far thanks to the weather, i haven't been able to get out and shoot yet. hopefully this week.

I went yesterday to a new range, did many shots with Swiss 3F and Null B. Next trip will be Goex 3f and Null B.

I was very curious if Goex had included Creosote into the mix since they have not in the past.

What do you mean by the "Swiss book"? Neither of them seem the kind of thing which would be produced by the company. Who wrote that material?
