    Minnie Ball Transport

For mine ball transport go to your local Clinlab ( where they take your blood samples ) & they have foam trays about 8'' square which hold 100 viles & they throw them away. Easily cut to fit inside a more eye pleasing container. I also use them for pre-measured shotgun powder charges & shot, 25...

    Original Civil War musket buck.

I shoot an original Charleville .71 cal rifled barrel with .69 patched ball 45g 2F. It is extremely acurate at 50 yards with 3/4 shot edge cutting groups. Not as steady as i used to be, paper targets at this stage but looking forward to testing on kangaroos

    SOLD Ardessa Longrifle

Can't speak for Ardesa rifles but their shot guns are excellent. I won silver medal in ML World Championships with one & several State & Nationals Championships. Paid $600 for it several years ago but prices down-under are generally double of those in the USA

    Charleville sight picture

I shot this target last weekend with my original Charleville at 50yds. I was lucky enough to buy this Charleville with a shiny .71cal 5 groove rifled barrel & fitted with a 1,000yd rear sight from a small pawn shop in Tennessee. The original bayonet came with it but it was unfortunately it had...

    Questions about shot loads

I haven't shot much game with either my 11g or 12g but use the same loads for both & have won many 25 clay matches at club,State & International shoots. I use eaqual powder/shot by dipper. 1 1/8 3f, 1/8'' over powder card, 1/2'' dry fibre wad cut in halves ( a full wad punches a hole in the...

    Rifles of the 1830s

Having a rifle/shotgun with interchangable barrels & locks is a big bonus when travelling to & from competitions etc. If you have a stock that fits you then why bother to carry two complete firearms. I am a lefty ( normal shooter lol ) & have a custom shotgun with two barrels & two locks. It...

A tip from a tight old timer!

Electrician's screwdriver sets are hollow ground & will fit most "gun screws". The yellow & red handles look out of place in your muzzle loading kit so remove the handles & replace with a piece of antler, problem solved

    Trap Gun

Make the trip to Friendship In or contact Mike Longstreth if you want a nicely built flint shotgun & it won't cost you the earth. He is building several at the moment. Look him up thru the Muzzle Blast magazine

    FOR SALE Swivel barrel rifle

Yes you are correct it can be shot either shoulder & i do the same as you, but i think you missed the point of the comment " it works both ways " indicating the lock could possibly be fitted on the r/h side of the stock!!
  20. BJm

    FOR SALE Swivel barrel rifle

How is that possible ? The lock/hammer will always be on the left side of the stock. Shooting r/h will place the cap detonation to the side of your face.
