    Advice needed on mid-late 70's TC Hawk 28"b w/1:48t

If you do get it screwed into the tip it will probably pull the tip out of the bullet. Do like Eric suggested. I'm a frequent dryballer and have never used a puller.

FOR SALE "Sgt York" CUSTOM .50 turkey Shoot Log rifle

My thoughts too. Also CVA lock. What is the barrel ATF? And length.

    A Moment of Weakness

According to the picture on the box it's a flintlock. Since that was wrong, might want to check the barrel markings to confirm caliber.

    A Moment of Weakness

The kits and rifles that were CVA Kentuckys were all 45 caliber. Traditions makes them now and they do make a 45 and a 50. I had a 45 for a short while and it's accuracy was very good.

    A Moment of Weakness

Nice to score a deal like that. A rare opportunity. Being a CVA I expect it's a 45 caliber. Don't let this one scare you away from the Kibler. The Kibler will be much easier to build than this one!

I use the same stuff. It's easy to use, readily available, cost efficient and any shape you choose. I've found it at Joanne's and also Wally World and Hobby Lobby.

    2024/2025 Squirrel Hunting Thread...........

I think that's very true. Especially in the whitetail woods. But I can see their point. When a squirrel hunter walks by under their stand it must seem like an intrusion. Back when I hunted whitetails I was ok with any movement by other hunters.

I should try the neatsfoot oil. Are you using the real McCoy or compound? I get the 32 degrees. Grew up in the UP.

    Schutzen 3F thoughts

These comments are very relevant to me. I've been shooting Scheutzen 3f for quite a few years. For the past three years I've been using vegetable oil for lube. I'm mostly a wipe between shots guy and the fouling is very noticeable using the veg oil. Last Saturday I shot with the soap and...

How long does 1’000 caps last for an average shooter

I agree. It's, IMO, only a problem if enough oil residue is left in the breech to combine with cap residue to even partially obstruct the ignition channel. Iike I said, I think the cleaning procedure you use pretty much assures that you won't have problems whether you snap a cap or not.
