How far must you travel to hunt?

Hi all, question not for the farmer folks within our group but more so for the city bound. How far must you travel to find public land, or even legally accessible private land, to be able to hunt? For myself, now that I’m in a city for health reasons, is roughly 1.75 hours, and this would be...

.56 Smoothbore Shot Patterning and Bare Ball

Spruce grouse are great table fare until the snows arrive. Then you must soak the meat in milk overnight in order to remove the spruce needle taste. Walk

    Double dose.

My shooting partner says to me on one of the last few trail shoots we were on. Shows me the powder in his horn and asks if I think its 3 or 4f powder? I reply that in my opinion it is to fine for 3f, and he agrees. He is pretty sure he put the wrong powder in his horn. Follows that with “oh...

    .54 Renegade Arrived

Love mine. Also pre-name and 4 digit s/n. My barrel is excellent condition inside, and spade stamped on the bottom flat. Only issue is some Bubba tried to remove the breach at one time and left it marked. I cleaned it up as best I could but it ain’t perfect. Good find!! Walk

Is it uncool to use Pyrodex?

Did you see my post on BP costs up here? Would you pay that price when Pyro is less than half? What can you tell me of the shipping regulations in my area? Ever think I’m not in the US? Ahhh, your little world. Walk

    Cheating In Matches

Evidence? You’ve seen evidence? Or you’ve read statements? I’ve never seen cheating in any shoot I’ve participated or observed. With that being said, I’ve never shot in a large shoot like you folks down there have. Walk

    Is something missing here?

It appears to be a perfect replacement for a CVA shotgun lock, which also is a replacement for the cheap lock on a .45 Ultra High rifle I have. Walk

    Double dose.

This being the same crowd that swears Pyro is more corrosive, will deteriorate, is less consistent in performance, harder to clean and the spawn of the devil. At least in their opinions, and don’t confuse them with facts!! Britt knows his stuff, and I would listen when he speaks. Walk

    Lyman Great Plains Rifle Issues

How tight was the lock bolt? If too tight it will bow and warp the lock plate and wont allow correct function. Regarding trigger guard, a slight bend should be all it takes. Obviously don’t break it. Walk

    Lyman Great Plains Rifle Issues

See that little screw between the two triggers? It is screwed in too far. Back it out and both issues will greatly improve. BTW, don’t worry about it accidentally coming out when you are adjusting, just put it back in a couple threads, you cannot do any damage. Walk
