The question is what kind of stripper to use?

    Stripping a barrel

Forgive me, for I have sinned. I have a TC Renegade project that I am assembling. It is a 54 barrel, which I have wanted for a while. Well, the bluing on it was in tough shape, so a friend who is a semi retired gunsmith said that he would redo it for me. I told him that I wanted a high gloss...

    CVA hawken worth?

I would say get it if you can clean it up. I would love to find that deal. The only used muzzleloader that I have seen at a gun shop lately is a Traditions version of the bobcat. It had a screwed up lock and some rust - they are going to ask $250 for it...

Anyone ever use a Tree Lounge?

I have a Gunslinger stand. It is fantastic. It is a little hefty, but wow is it comfortable. They may have stopped production. http://deercrossingtreestands.com/

    TC New Englander?

Thanks for the education! All that I have seen for sale locally have been Renegades and a few Hawkens. Sidelocks are very thin around here.

    TC New Englander?

Is the New Englander the carbine octagon to round version of the Renegade? I shot one of those and liked it a lot. I have never seen one for sale locally.

    Thompson Center

It is sad that they no longer make the sidelocks since they have been bought out by Smith and Wesson. That being said, their customer service is still good. I called with an issue on a rear sight on a Renegade project rifle, and they were very happy to help. In fact, the customer service...

I agree. The triggers on the Thompson Center sidelocks have all been great. Good quality overall.

Best advice for removing a stuck nipple

I raided the sewing supplies and found a needle that will work. It is installed. Now once the bluing is finished, and the ramrod arrives, this rifle will be back in business. Thanks!

Oooohhhh.. I'd like to get a White Mountain Carbine!

Best advice for removing a stuck nipple

With the application of some heat via a propane torch, and a pair of vice grips, the nipple is free! I cleaned the threads, and will lubricate it well. Thanks everyone!

Best advice for removing a stuck nipple

Thanks All. I will probably break out the torch. I need to get a longer nipple wrench too.

Best advice for removing a stuck nipple

I have a Thompson Center Renegade in 54 that has a stuck nipple. Several days of PB Blaster have had no effect. Should I be looking for the drill? Also, the sight is the late style site that has a tiny pin holding the windage adjustment screw. That pin has sheared. Does anyone know a source...

    TC prices

That is a smoking deal! I was in a gun shop today, and they wanted $50 for a rusted Traditions plastic stock sidelock with a broken lock. The Thompson Center rifles on the used rack were all $595 each.

    TC prices

Some of the eBay prices have been insane. I have a Renegade that needs a couple of bits - the wedge pin and a factory ramrod (don't want synthetic stuff, and don't want brass on a Renegade), but they have been cost prohibitive. I will keep waiting...

    Poacher

I don't know where this occurred, but I read a couple of felonies had this occurred in Florida...
